In 1967, Tiger Beat Magazine asked the following questions to their featured matinee idols.  In 2009, we posed them to Mimi First. 

How would your mother describe you in one word? Sunshine 

What is your favorite flower? Lady Slipper Orchids   In Latin: Paphiopedilums 

What is the most insane question you’ve ever been asked? I bet whoever your with could fit your whole foot in his mouth, Well… are you with someone? What size shoe do you wear?

1. Extreme indulgence in sensual pleasures; dissipation.

2. Archaic Seduction from morality, allegiance, or duty. 

Where would you like to live? In a streamlined Airstream – my very own mobile land yacht traveling all over North America watching sunsets from coast to coast discovering well kept local secrets, diners, dives, and diversions…debauchery. 

What is the quote that comes to your mind? ”I used to be snow white….but I drifted.” – Mae West 

What animal best describes the kind of man you’re interested in? It’s a toss up between A Black Panther and A Woodchuck! 

What do you miss about your childhood? Playing outside with all the kids on the block until the sun had gone down, the stars had come out and the porch lights had gone on to call us home. 

If you could change your name, what would you change it to? Emerald – this was my great grandmothers name and I love it. Emmie for short of course. 

What is the main fault of your character? I forget.  What was it?  It’s on the tip of my tongue.  Oh yeah, forgetfulness. 

Who is your favorite historical figure? Lady Godiva 

Describe how you kiss in one word. Luscious 

What in the world do you least desire? A gilded cage 

Finish this sentence: “Happiness is a thing called…” A joyful and thankful heart. Failing that I guess I’ll settle for wealth and beauty beyond compare and a never ending supply of chocolate milkshakes. 

In every episode of “Inside the Actor’s Studio” James Lipton asks the following questions (originated by French interviewer Bernard Pivot) to the guest movie star.  Now we ask Mimi First. 

What turns you on? The smell and electricity in the air before a major thunderstorm. Breath on the back of my neck, being blindfolded and not knowing what comes next – the thrill of the unexpected. I could go on and on but that might turn me on too… so I’ll just stop there. 

What turns you off? Lack of imagination. 

What is your favorite word? FREE.. as in I live free and here’s some cool free stuff. Pretty much any sentence that has this word in it is gonna be good one. 

What sound or noise do you love? High-heels echoing down a long hallway, Running water, Howling wind, the high ptitched hum of complete and pure silence. the sound an ATM makes as it dispenses crisp bills. 

What sound or noise do you hate? Cracking knuckles, & snot snorting sounds YUCK! Don’t do that around me please. It’s also a major downer to hear the dial tone on the other end of the line after you’ve just been hung up on. 

What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? Writing and Illustrating Children’s books. 

What profession other than yours would you not want to attempt? Professional gambler I have absolutely no poker face. 

What is your favorite swear word? Well Fuckity Fuck Fuck Fuckity Fuck! It’s so versatile and satisfying. 

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear god say to you as you enter the Pearly Gates? You made a good run of it kiddo and now were gonna send you back down there to do it all over again! Then he slaps his knee and says, “HOT DOG”
